Selma Makela

Painter Selma Makela’s work explores ideas relating to time, distance and dislocation within our changing environment, both in geological and human terms. Her work is informed by scientific research, archival images, lost and found ephemera, images from travel. She has exhibited across Ireland, the UK, France and Canada. While in Paris, she will research the history of early Alpine exploration for a new body of work.
