Discover our Historical Archives and the Old Library which represent more than four centuries of Irish presence in Paris.

The CCI’s Old Library is one of the few surviving libraries of the many colleges, convents and monasteries which were situated in the Montagne-Sainte-Geneviève area of Paris until the end of the 18th century. One added date : Wednesday 17 December.

This exhibition presents original editions, letters and portraits relating to four important Irish figures who made their mark on Paris’ artistic circles: James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Francis Bacon and Oscar Wilde.

Four guided visits of our remarkable Old Library to discover more about the history and breadth of its collection, and admire our three illuminated manuscripts up close.

Dr. Jesse Patrick Harrington gives a talk about the medieval Irish abbot, archbishop, and patron saint of Dublin and of Eu, Seine-Maritime, as part of the 800th anniversary celebrations of his canonisation.
