Illustrated talk by Hannah Starkey

Coinciding with Paris Photo and to celebrate the launch of Hannah Starkey's catalogue raisonné, the photographer will present an illustrated talk about the evolution of her artistic practice, as well as the influence that her 2016 residence here in Paris has had on her recent work.

Hannah Starkey: 1997–2017 is published by MACK and charts two decades of the photographer’s influential image-making. From her early staged photographs made in Belfast to her documentation of the Women’s March in London in 2017, Starkey has always dedicated her work to women and the ways in which the medium of photography has shaped ideas of what it means to be female. Her new book includes a biographical essay by the curator and writer Charlotte Cotton, and a candid conversation between the Starkey and the writer and editor Liz Jobey.
