
Having participated in the French resistance, Samuel Beckett and his wife fled Paris in 1942 and spent the rest of the war in the village of Roussillon. Beckett developed a real affinity for the French farming and vigneron culture. Aimé Guibert de la Vaissiére, one of the Grands Vignerons of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, will talk on wine and the heritage of this region so beloved of Beckett.
