Rencontre avec
Jan Carson & Hannah McPhillimy
- Tuesday 21 January 2020 / Literary-Music
- 7.30pm, reservation recommended, in English
- €5
This evening, our writer in residence Jan Carson will present the fruit of five year’s collaboration with fellow Northern Irish artist, the singer-songwriter Hannah McPhillimy. Words and music are woven together in the songs that the latter wrote in response to Jan’s first novel Malcolm Orange Disappears and in the texts that the author was inspired to write on hearing Hannah’s pop-jazz melodies. This will be combined with readings and music on the theme of imagination as well as conversations about cross-genre artistic relationships and the alchemy of partnering with an artist who works in a different art form.
