Double Bill: Ríona Sally Hartman and Ronan Guilfoyle

This concert will take place at the Czech Centre, Paris 6e as part of the international Jazzycolors festival.

Performing with some of the best known players on the Irish jazz scene, Ríona Sally Hartman has been winning admirers ever since her acclaimed debut album 'Big Starving Thing' in 2015. Influenced by musicians who blend pop sensibilities with contemporary jazz and classical compositional ideas such as Bjork and Julie Feeney, Ríona Sally Hartman draws her lyrical influences from contemporary storytellers.

Ronan Guilfoyle

In March 2018 Ronan Guilfoyle, one of Ireland’s leading composers and jazz musicians, and a major figure in Irish musical life for several decades, reached the milestone of turning 60 years of age. To celebrate and mark the occasion, Ronan has composed a suite of music called Life Cycle, and has assembled a world class ensemble to perform it. Combining both composed and improvised material, this piece will explore Ronan’s life, both personal and musical, and will represent it though the medium of jazz composition and performance.

CCI will host the Hungarian group Bartók Impressions on 7 November and the Estonian group Titoks on 14 November.

CCI and the Centre Culturel Hellénique will co-present a concert by Savina Yannatou & Francesco Turrisi at the Goethe Institut on 23 November.
