Based on a true story, this theatrical musical comedy recounts the journey of an Irish fiddle player as he wanders across the globe. Encountering much craic and many musical genres, with some trouble and strife in the mix, he eventually finds sobriety (and jazz!) along the road. Behind the laughs and music is the story of a man deep in the grip of alcoholism and drug abuse and his eventual triumph over both. A mixture of traditional Irish storytelling, music and stand-up, Aindrias de Staic enlivens his traveller’s tales with poetry as well as Irish, Italian, Greek and gypsy music, jazz violin and Australian convict songs.

“Storytelling is one of the great Irish pastimes and de Staic is one of the best...”
(GlamAdelaide.com)

“... exquisite, picaresque. Rarely has storytelling been so foot-tappingly funny.”
(Theatre Guide, London)

" the sense of joy and redemption expressed through his playing is quite moving...the man's got talent and humour in abundance"
(The Scotsman)
