Young European Strings Chamber Orchestra & guest Míċeál O’Rourke

Founded in Ireland in 1987, the Young European Strings Chamber Orchestra consists of 18 or so string musicians aged from 13 to 20 years. For over a decade, under the baton of Artistic Director Kees Bakels, YESCO have charmed and impressed audiences across Europe with their uniquely distinctive sound and outstanding level of performance. The orchestra has won two prestigious international prizes. Tonight they will play works by Mozart, Rossini, Britten and the Irish composer Raymond Deane.

A special recital of Mozart’s piano concerto n°13 will be given by Míċeál O’Rourke whose lifelong commitment to music-making and extensive repertoire have earned him great critical acclaim all over the world.
