Member of Aosdana and of the Royal Hibernian Academy, William Crozier’s abstract landscapes and still life paintings use sumptuous colour to convey an emotional intensity; he is endlessly concerned with the challenge of creating a new language in figurative painting. His work tests the boundaries that separate the figurative from the abstract as the colours and geometry interact with the vision. He lives in West Cork and has a powerful affinity with Irish life and landscape. His still lifes display his exceptional powers of concentration, intensity and simplification.
