West Ocean String Quartet with Maighread Ni Dhomhnaill
This concert sees Maighréad Ni Dhomhnaill, one of Ireland's finest traditional singers, team up with the West Ocean String Quartet, which displays a happy disregard for the boundaries between classical and traditional music. Violinists Seamus Maguire and Niamh Crowley, viola player Ken Rice and cellist Neil Martin formed the quartet in 1999 and have explored and composed an eclectic repertoire of music to critical acclaim.
