Niamh Flanagan Saint Patrick's Bells and the snaking motorway, etching, 32.5 cm x 30 cm,

Thirteen Graphic Studio Dublin artists respond to artefacts in the extensive collections of the National Museum of Ireland. Jean Bardon, Mary Rose Binchy, Niamh Flanagan, John Graham, Jennifer Lane, Brian Lalor, Stephen Lawlor, Margo McNulty, Ruth O’Donnell, Geraldine O’Reilly, Tom Phelan, Marc Reilly and Robert Russell took inspiration from the idea of Hibernia, the Romans’ name for Ireland, a land they considered to be at the edge of the earth and so cold it was barely habitable. The techniques represented in the show include woodblock printing, etching, collograph and carborundum.

Vignettes of the works are on view at www.graphicstudiodublin.com (Shows on tour)
