To mark International Uilleann Piping Day, the CCI presents The Pipes, The Pipes, a music and live art performance that pays homage to the singular magic of the Irish uilleann pipes. Featuring the playing of three exceptional pipers, Padraig McGovern, Leonard Barry and Maitiu Ui Casaide, the live show also features contributions by visual artists Lionel Palun (France) and Donal Dineen (Ireland) who respond live to the mesmerising soundwaves and conjure images that enhance the musical flow. The Pipes, The Pipes featured on RTE TV as one of the highlights of St. Patrick’s Festival Dublin this year.
“An intense, high-energy blast of ensemble piping and a visual adventure that involves exploration, experimentation and risk-taking.” (The Journal of Music)
The three pipers will lead different workshops for the public on the morning of their event:
