With Sean Binder, Catriona Crowe, Richard Kearney, Panti Bliss
For this first weekend of our St Patrick's Festival, the CCI presents an inspiring evening with four speakers commenting on centennial Ireland in relation to social justice, human rights, history, philosophy and religion as part of our series 2022 Congress for Ireland.
Queen of Ireland Panti Bliss is a human rights and LGBTQIA+ activist whose 2014 speech at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin was shared worldwide and played a significant role in the outcome of Ireland's referendum on same-sex marriage the following year.
Irish philosopher Richard Kearney is a public intellectual specializing in contemporary continental philosophy on which he has published more than 20 books.
Human rights defender Sean Binder still faces 20 years imprisonment following his search and rescue of migrants on the island of Lesbos (Greece).
Catriona Crowe is one of Ireland's most important commentators and advocates of basic human rights as well as an esteemed historian responsible for reform of protocols governing the care and custody of Irish public records.
Each will give a short address. An evening not to be missed!
