Hailing from Belfast, Scott Flanigan is one of the foremost pianists on the Irish jazz scene. Also a recognised composer, he made a name for himself as a side-man for demanding taskmasters including Van Morrison, before stepping out of the shadows with his own hard-hitting piano trio a number of years ago. Ohio-raised saxophonist and composer Meilana Gillard emerged as a rising star on the New York scene while studying at the New School in the early 2000s. Based near Belfast since 2012, she released her second album “Dream Within a Dream” in 2017 on Lyte Records. Tonight they join forces for CCI’s Jazzycolors festival concert.
