Robocobra Quartet
With Chris Ryan (drums, vocals), Nathan Rodgers (bass guitar), Thibault Barillon (tenor saxophone), Tom Tabori (soprano saxophone, electronics)
Mining influences from jazz, hardcore punk and contemporary classical music, Robocobra Quartet sound like little else. Originally formed in Belfast, this group’s improvisational approach centres on a howling drummer-vocalist and menacing saxophones that has successfully taken them to festivals such as SXSW (USA), Latitude Festival (UK) and Into The Great Wide Open (Netherlands). Having received accolades from the likes of The Quietus and BBC Radio 6 for their first album, they have just released their second Music for All Occasions.
