Founded in Dublin in 1988, O’Donnell + Tuomey is one of Ireland’s most prestigious architectural practices. The practice has exhibited six times in the Venice Biennale, making installations which advance their research into aspects of architecture - materials, form, construction, space - as well as its overlap with other art forms. Over the last forty years, they have worked across Europe and won over 120 Irish and international awards. Tonight O’Donnell + Tuomey talk about their engagement with complex urban situations and sensitive landscapes. Contemporary in expression, their buildings are intended to feel ‘strangely familiar’ and belonging to the deeper background of their place.
