Born in Dublin, Joseph O'Connor is one of Ireland's most successful younger writers. In addition to journalism, film scripts and stage plays, he has written numerous number one bestsellers, including Cowboys and Indians, shortlisted for the Whitbread Prize, and the widely acclaimed Star of the Sea. His work has been published in 18 languages. His most recent novel is Redemption Falls (2007), the French translation of which will be published by Phébus Editions in September 2007.
