The much-admired Irish author Dermot Bolger talks to his translator Marie Hermet this evening about love and loss. Best known for his novels (The Family on Paradise Pier, The Journey Home), he has also written poetry for decades and published a number of anthologies. His deeply personal collection The Venice Suite (2012) was created as a response to the loss of a loved one and is now being translated into French by Marie Hermet as part of her CCI residency, with support from the Région Ile-de-France. For their dicussion around poetry and language, they are joined by current poets in residence Moya Cannon and Nidhi Zak/Aria Eipe.

The next day, Saturday 25 May at 4.20pm, Dermot Bolger and Marie Hermet take part in FICEP’s Nuit de la Littérature, organised at the Institut Culturel Italien (Paris 7e). Details of the programme here.
