Alliance Française Dublin and the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris are delighted to welcome Claire Keegan for the online launch of the French version of her latest novel "Small Little Things Like These" which is being published by Faber and Faber in 2021 and has just been published by Sabine Wespieser under the title "Ce genre de petites choses". One of Ireland's most talented contemporary authors, Claire will discuss this latest work which tells the story of a simple act of courage and tenderness: Wood and coal merchant Bill Furlong is busy with deliveries three days before Christmas, one of which is to the neighbouring convent. Word has it that unmarried women are the workforce behind the laundries there and that the nuns are making a gread deal of money from arranging the adoption of their illegitimate children. While everyone else busies themselves with fesive preparations, Bill finally confronts his past and listens to his heart.

During this event supported by Literature Ireland, Claire will be joined by her publisher Sabine Wespieser, her translator Jacqueline Odin and academic Jean-Philippe Imbert, Professor of Comparative Literature & Sexuality Studies at DCU.
