Rencontre with Billy Glynn
Chairman of the Board of Management when the Irish College was on the cusp of becoming the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Billy Glynn is in conversation tonight with Tom O’Connor, one of the Fondation Irlandaise' esteemed current members.
Billy was chairman from 2001 to 2002 and treasurer of the Fondation between 1991 and 2003. He discusses his recollections of this journey from the part opening of the Irish College to the public in 1989, allowing modest activity in the 1990s, to the successful lobbying for Irish government financial support leading to the opening of the Centre Culturel Irlandais in October 2002.
