The Wexford-born poet and writer Anthony Cronin was elected a Saoi of Aosdána in 2003. For this evening, he will read from his poetry. His books of verse include the long poems Reductionist Poem (1980), RMS Titanic (1981) and The End of the Modern World (1989); of his numerous other collections, the most recent is The Minotaur and Other Poems (1999). Anthony Cronin’s is also the author of esteemed biographies of Samuel Beckett and Flann O’Brien. In 1983, he received the Marten Toonder Award for his contribution to Irish literature.
