Interview with Colin McCabe
Jean Luc Godard is one of the most innovative filmmakers of the last 50 years. As the leading director of the Nouvelle Vague he constantly pushed the ideolgical and technical boundaries to rewrite the language of cinema. He now lives and works in Switzerland.
The recent publication Godard : A portrait of the Artist at Seventy (Bloomsbury, 2003) by Colin McCabe is the ideal occasion to view the work of this influential director. Colin McCabe is Professor of English and Film at the University of Pittsburgh (USA), a film producer, cinema critic and editor of the literary review Critical Quarterly. Other publications include Eloquence of the Vulgar: Language, Cinema and the Politics of Culture.
