Reading by Anne Haverty

Born in Co Tipperary in 1959, Anne Haverty is a novelist and poet as well as a journalist and script-writer. Her novels include The Free and Easy, published this year, the award-winning One Day as a Tiger (1988,1997) and The Far Side of a Kiss (2000). She also contributed to Ladies Night at Finbarr's Hotel (2000). Her biography of the eponymous Countess Markievicz: An Independent Life (1988) and first poetry collection The Beauty of the Moon (1999) attests to the breadth of her interests and talent.

Anne Haverty lives in Dublin and is currently writer-in-residence at the Centre Culturel Irlandais.
