Making III

On 10 September, renowned Irish designer and furniture-maker Joseph Walsh unveiled Arcanum Formae at the Hôtel de Sully, headquarters of the French National Monuments. This major exhibition presents a site-specific monumental outdoor sculpture and selected sculptural furniture works that create an immersive dialogue between art, architecture, light and history.

Based in Fartha Co. Cork, Joseph Walsh hosts an annual gathering of international makers, Making In, which celebrates and considers making as a way of thinking, exploring, expressing and imagining. Premiered tonight at the CCI, director Pat Collins’ documentary, Making III, captures the spirit of Making In. It offers an intimate portrait of making and of inviting audiences to reflect on the dedication, devotion and passion the practitioners bring to their craft. Filmed at workshops and places of making in Japan, Ireland, Mexico and France, it unfolds through a series of intimate conversations with makers and participants at Making In/25.
