The Proclamation of the Irish Republic read outside the Dublin General Post Office at the time of the 1916 Easter Rising has become iconic in the history of the Irish state. Led by Andrew Duggan, this group exhibition of new filmworks offers contemporary artistic responses to notions of place, language, citizenship and identity, to which the 1916 proclamation would seem to lay claim. The artists engaged in this project are leading figures in the worlds of Irish visual art, dance, and performance: Andrew Duggan, Jazmin Chiodi & Alexandre Iseli, Olwen Fouéré, Anthony Haughey, Frances Hegarty & Andrew Stones, Nigel Rolfe, John Scott.

For Nuit Blanche at the CCI, short presentations by the artists will take place in conjunction with the screening of the seven filmworks at 7.30pm lasting till 9.30pm. Booking necessary

The seven filmworks will also be screened on a loop between 2pm and 6pm during the day and from 9.30pm to midnight. No booking required

Declan Clarke’s exhibition, Rita Duffy’s Souvenir Shop and Hannah Starkey’s studio also open late.
