Nick Miller
Truckscapes : drawings from a mobile studio
Since the beginning of this project Nick Miller has worked on large-scale black ink drawings of the land around his home in the north-west of Ireland. They are made on heavy-duty paper that is scored and redrawn with brush and power-tools and document both the landscape and studio from which they are drawn. Driven by working directly in the presence of his subject, Miller seeks to distil the energy of that encounter. The work has a unique intensity of vision and realisation that challenges expectations of being in; seeing and painting the world. Nick Miller is a member of Aosdana and has exhibited internationally.
