The late 17th century saw the abdication of King James II of England and the exile of thousands of Irishmen to France. They formed several infantry and cavalry regiments to create the Irish Brigade, and joined the armies of Louis XIV. This concert of the Irish Chamber Choir of Paris, under the direction of Jean-Charles Léon, presents little-known works from this period: Messe du 11ème ton by Boesset, Motets by Du Mont, Te Deum by Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy.
The programme for this concert has been created in collaboration with "La visite de Vauban à Colmars", a spectacle which will be presented in August 2011. It will be introduced by historian Olivier Joseph, director of Journées Vauban de Colmars-les-Alpes.
