Mise Eire

The first feature-length film to be made in the Irish language, Mise Eire (“I am Ireland”) was released in 1959. A historic artistic collaboration, directed by George Morrisson with music composed by Seán O Riada, it depicts events in Ireland leading up to, during, and immediately after the 1916 Easter Rising, using unrivalled archive material.
