French Academician since 1978, author of Un Taxi Mauve, (Gallimard 1973) and most recently La Chambre de ton Pére, (Gallimard 2004) among many others, winner of innumerable prizes for literature, and an Honorary Doctorate of the National University of Ireland, Michel Déon has lived in Galway for many years, travelling between Paris and the most Western part of Europe that is the West of Ireland during the years of much change in Ireland. Here, Pierre Joannon, Chairman of the Ireland Fund of France and author, talks to Michel Déon about things he has seen and people he has heard during this time.
