Maud Cotter
Objects that are no longer themselves

Maud Cotter’s art interrogates and interrupts the traditional boundaries of sculpture, both through incorporation of common and domestic objects and through interaction with the broader contexts of gallery architecture. Her work relates to surrealism, but her impeccable stage-management of materials, forms and relationships raises the curtain on a playful production. Cork-based Cotter is a member of Aosdána and an artist with a truly international reputation.
