Marco Del Re et John Montague

The Centre Culturel Irlandais delighted to be welcoming back this exhibition featuring the works of Italian artist Marco Del Re inspired by the poems of John Montague The Rough Field. Following its success and the real interest shown by the public during the Saint Patrick Celebrations, this exhibition organised in collaboration with the Gallery Maeght will run from the 18th of July to August 20th 2005.

Born in Brooklyn in 1929, John Montague spent his childhood in County Tyrone in the North of Ireland. He is today considered to be one of Ireland's greatest poets, his works are based on experiences memories and dreams.

Born in Rome and raised in Brussels, currently living and working in Paris, Marco Del Re often describes his works as a part of his family. This is an important matter when looking at his work, in which we find the strength and virtuosity of his two worlds crossing and confronting us.
