With La Caravane Folle, Franco-Irish artist Malachi Farrell displays his signature style in CCI’s courtyard for seven weeks – recycled objects combine with high technology to create an absurdist form of social criticism. In this case, the interior of a 1970s caravan has been transformed into a stage for four frenetic vignettes about the conditions of living on the move – police raids, discrimination, nomadic culture, migration between continents… Born in Dublin in 1970, Malachi Farrell lives and works in Paris and New York; he has shown at Centre Pompidou, 104, MacVAL and most recently Le Voyage à Nantes.
At 7pm on the evening of the opening, Malachi will be joined by his brother, the musician and producer Liam Farrell, aka Doctor L, for a performance called welcometohell@refugeecamp.com. With the support of AMartFILMS.
