CCI's Médiathèque has joined forces with the literary blogger Charlotte Parlotte to launch a new book club. A big fan of Irish literature, Charlotte will suggest a number of books each trimester for you to read and then share your thoughts on (in French). For this first evening, she has chosen two authors whose latest books have just been published in French translation and whose styles are very different: Sally Rooney and Colm Tóibín. Beautiful World, Where Are You (Où es-tu, monde admirable ?) is international phenomenon Sally Rooney's third novel in which she explores the hopes and disappointments of a group of thirty-somethings. Established writer Colm Tóibín's The Magician (Le Magicien), masterfully conjures up the complex inner life of the great German author Thomas Mann. Time to get reading!
