Turn down the lights, turn up the radio and listen in! Radio is surveillance with a twist (see our current exhibition): recorded conversations that are made to be overheard. These radio pieces and extracts touch on different aspects of Ireland's landscape, society and politics and have won awards in Europe, the US and Ireland. They bring us sounds from isolated Irish islands, tiny villages, and from adventure in the cities. They tell stories of the dead, often tragic but sometimes funny, and of life in Ireland a thousand years ago – but also of Ireland today and something of how it came about. Irish radio producers have been collecting hidden tales for decades. This evening you can enjoy some of the best radio documentary-making in Ireland masterfully chosen by producer Aidan O’Donnell and presented in the chapel.
