What better way to (re)discover the distinctive sounds of Ireland's traditional uilleann pipes than joining us for tonight's concert by one of the country's most respected and sought-after pipers?! Born in Kerry, Leonard Barry's third solo recording Littoral (2024) is described as a ‘master class in uilleann piping’ (Folk Radio UK). He is accompanied by Kaitlin Cullen-Verhauz, and by Andy Morrow and Seamie O'Dowd with whom he has played for over two decades. Following appearances at Celtic Connections in Glasgow, the Doolin Folk Festival and Tradition Now at the National Concert Hall, the four musicians will play a repertoire of traditional tunes, more recent compositions and even a few French pieces that all show off this captivating and quintessentially Irish instrument.
