Author of the book L’hiver du Connétable: Charles de Gaulle et l’Irlande Pierre Joannon will examine the events which drove the founder of the Fifth Republic to retreat to Ireland between 10 May and 19 June 1969, after he had resigned as President. He will follow in the footsteps of the ex-Head of State from west Cork to Dublin, via the Lakes of Killarney and the unpopulated landscapes of Connemara.
