Landless
Chapel Sessions

  • Thursday 1 February 2024
  • 8.30pm
  • Admission free

In recent years, a wave of young artists has released some of the most innovative and striking albums on the Irish folk scene. The traditional Irish vocal group Landless is one of them. Hailing from Dublin and Belfast, the four singers - Lily Power, Meabh Meir, Ruth Clinton and Sinead Lynch - released their acclaimed debut Bleaching Bones in 2018. To round off our Brigid’s Day celebration of women’s resilience and creativity, their four-part harmonies will blend and resonate in the chapel with uplifting intensity. For this evocative rendition of their repertoire of folk songs and ballads, they are joined this evening by singer Consuelo Breschi, from the duo Varo.

"There is something about voices in harmony that makes you feel good – and Landless have this to perfection. There are no airs and graces, just beautiful harmonies, their sound uplifting and spiritual, even ethereal." Folkradio UK

“..when Landless step onstage and open their mouths, the hush in the room is louder than any amplifier hum” The Irish Times
