Ronan Ryan, a writer-in-residence at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in association with The Well Review, will be reading from and discussing his debut novel, The Fractured Life of Jimmy Dice, a family saga about grief, physical trauma, and love, set in Ireland and narrated by a ghost: the protagonist’s twin, who dies at birth. Published by Tinder Press in 2017, it was named by the Irish Independent Review as one of their ‘Books of the Year’ and it was a finalist for The Lascaux Prize in Fiction. He will also read Danger, Love, Magic, a short story based on his childhood experiences in France, which was a finalist for the Machigonne Fiction Contest and is forthcoming in The New Guard.
