The poet, novelist, translator and broadcaster Mary O’Donnell speaks passionately about literature and her own writing; she sees it as her job "to work and think and reflect and try to do something transformative through imagination". Mary O’Donnell’s most recent collection of poetry is The Ark Builders published in 2009 and she has just completed a new novel. A member of Aosdána, she teaches creative writing at NUI Maynooth.
