For early birds who can come to the CCI for 8.15pm, Kila presents their current project The Peacekeeper’s Privilege (with support from the Arts Council). Combining readings and music, this project is borne out of their meeting military historian Dan Harvey during a residency at the CCI in early 2020.

A week-long residency at the CCI in March 2020 led to a chance encounter between renowned trad band Kíla and CCI resident Lt. Colonel Dan Harvey, a former member of the Irish peacekeeping forces and military historian. This in turn led to the inspirational idea of writing The Peacekeeper’s Privilege, a tribute to 60 years of Irish peacekeeping. Commissioned by the CCI to celebrate our 20th anniversary, with support from the Arts Council of Ireland (Traditional Arts Commissions Award), this moving piece is performed tonight to launch CCI’s St Patrick’s Festival.
