Lecture "Their friends, the French": Joyce, Jacobitism and the Literary Revival'
A lecturer at the Institute of Irish Studies at the University of Liverpool, Dr. Frank Shovlin is currently developing a project on James Joyce and the Literary Revival. His other research interests include the history of the book, the Irish short story, the literary magazine and the life and works of Patrick Kavanagh; he has published on subjects ranging from economics to regional aspects of the Irish Literary Revival.

Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Pennsylvania, Jean-Michel Rabaté has published more than fifteen books on Samuel Beckett, Thomas Bernhard, Ezra Pound, James Joyce, psychoanalysis and literary theory. His most recent publications are The Ghosts of Modernity (1996), Joyce and the Politics of Egoism (2001) and Jacques Lacan and Literature (2001).
