This year’s theme for the Journées européennes du patrimoine is « Les patrimoines cachés ». The Centre Culturel Irlandais is celebrating its 10th anniversary and has hidden treasures to reveal that weekend:

Guided tours of the Old Library including presentation of its treasures – three illuminated manuscripts dating from c.1500.

An intriguing demonstration by the Bouclier Bleu association on how to look after historic works following a disaster

Three exhibitions to discover at your leisure : How to Be Good, an exhibition presenting a selection of courtesy and spiritual handbooks held in the Old Library, William Butler Yeats, son œuvre, sa famille and three large installations by contemporary artist Patrick O’Reilly.

An open rehearsal by the Centre Culturel Irlandais’s own female choir, the Irish Chamber Choir of Paris, directed by Jean-Charles Léon (Sunday at 15.00)

Saint Patrick’s chapel and the Médiathèque are equally open to all.
