Set against the backdrop of North Donegal’s magnificent landscapes, Bob Gallagher's captivating film explores the themes of oral tradition, shared heritage and transmission. Ian Lynch (Lankum), Ye Vagabonds and The Henry Girls are invited by Inishowen Traditional Singers' Circle to create their own interpretations of songs from the Inishowen Song Project, a vast collection of local songs documented over 40 years from within the community itself. These new performances combine with atmospheric archival recordings and interviews with community figures to pay tribute to this world of traditional song as well as examine how and why songs pass from one singer to another, from one generation to the next.
