Following her 2018 residency here, the CCI is delighted to welcome back internationally renowned Dublin pianist and performer Isabelle O'Connell. The programme for this recital is based around the French writer, draughtsman and film-maker Jean Cocteau, and presents the world premiere of a new piece by composer Rhona Clarke, inspired by the work and sketches of this 'jack-of-all-trades' genius. The neoclassical music of the famous 'Group of Six' - comprising Georges Auric, Louis Durey, Arthur Honegger, Darius Milhaud, Francis Poulenc and Germaine Tailleferre - also features this evening, along with that of Cocteau's other main composers, Erik Satie and Igor Stravinsky. Described by the New Yorker as an "Irish piano virtuoso", Isabelle gives emphasis to the talent of these emblematic artists of their time.
