Finissage autour de l’artivisme

We mark the close of En attendant by Tomi Ungerer, agent provocateur and ‘artiste engagé’, with an evening of music, installations, short films and TED-style talks on the subject of activism and social engagement within the arts. Academics and artists have been invited to CCI for a mini-residency in early July to discuss ideas around artivism - this evening is the culmination of their creative gathering… Expect the unexpected! as Tomi would say.

Programme of the evening (7.30-9.30pm):

7.30pm: Curatorial tour of En Attendant by Aria UNGERER & Nora HICKEY M’SICHILI

7.55pm: Screening of short film Artists Campaign to Repeal the 8th by filmmaker Mia MULLARKEY with introduction by artist Cecily BRENNAN

8.10pm: Screening and introduction by artist Brian Maguire

8.25pm: Sounding the Feminists: musician Amanda FEERY (music and discusssion)

8.40pm: Conversation between Tom CREED, theatre and opera director and Jean-Philippe IMBERT, academic

9pm: Performance by Denis BUCKLEY of his essay about seeing firsthand the immediate collective response to the Grenfell Tower Fire in London followed by a screening of his new work Blank History, 2019.
