This concert Figlie di Pietà is an evocation of music written in the 18th-century for female choirs in Italy. Based around the marvellous « Stabat Mater » by Pergolese, the programme includes motets and instrumental concertos composed by Vivaldi for the Figlie di Pietà, a choir of young women that he directed at the Ospedale de la Pietà in Venice.
