European Heritage Day

This year’s theme for the Journées européennes du patrimoine is «1913-2013 Cent ans de protection ». The elegant College des Irlandais was completely restored at the end of the 20th century in order to safeguard the building and its heritage and to open the Centre Culturel Irlandais. Since then, a major project has been undertaken to restore and digitize thousands of works in the Old Library’s collection. On both days :

- Guided tours of the Old Library including presentation of its treasures – three illuminated manuscripts dating from c.1500.

- An opportunity for all visitors to view the exhibition of film installation by Vivienne Dick, Excluded by the Nature of Things, admire Saint Patrick’s chapel and spend some time at the Médiathèque.
