A co-founder of one of Europe's most reputable ensembles, the ConTempo Quartet, viola player Andreea Banciu has also formed a duo with the award-winning Irish pianist Aileen Cahill for a number of years now. Duo Anima is committed to bringing music by Irish and British women composers to the fore, and the musicians have just recorded their first album together.
Presented in association with the Contemporary Music Centre, this concert showcases the beautiful, but less well-known, viola repertoire including works by contemporary Irish composers Jane O'Leary, Micheál O Súilleabháin and Rebecca Clare.
