Until recently, Ireland had not seen a rise in the far right within its political landscape. However, faced with a serious housing crisis in recent years, the issue of immigration has become a significant focus of public debate. Against this backdrop, which is not unique to Ireland, what is at stake in the upcoming European Parliament elections in early June… and beyond?

The CCI is bringing together four speakers this evening to shed light on this pressing issue:

Mike O'Sullivan (moderator), Irish economist and co-author of L'Accord du Peuple (2024)
Dr. Ulrike Vieten
, specialist in questions of migration and racisms, Queen’s University Belfast
Jean-Yves Camus
, Director of the Observatoire des radicalités politiques, Fondation Jean-Jaurès, Paris
Nidhi Eipe
, Irish poet of Indian origin and Global Ambassador for the Institute for Economics & Peace
