Desi Wilkinson & Feilimí O’Connor

The Gaulín Traditional Singers’ Club provides a convivial atmosphere in which to sing or listen to traditional music from Ireland and beyond. This evening, guests Desi Wilkinson and Feilimí O’Connor will lead with songs from Ulster and from the ancient Oriel region of Ireland respectively. Well-known as a flautist and academic (see lecture), Desi is also an accomplished singer and spent three years in Brittany in the early 1990s. Feilimí is the son of the renowned singer Eithne Ní Uallacháin (Lá Lugh) and the celebrated fiddle player Gerry O'Connor (Lá Lugh, Skylark). In 2015 he won the prestigious Oireachtas Men’s Under-35 Sean Nós singing competition; he performs in both Irish and English.
